How an Occasional Photoshoot Can Boost Your Self-Confidence
"Worry about loving yourself, instead of an idea of other people loving you!"
A few years ago, when I was still in high school, I worked with a girl who introduced me to a photographer. She often shared photos from her photoshoots on Facebook, and I was absolutely in love with the way each photo came out. After meeting with this photographer, I decided to have a photoshoot myself. Girls and boys... OMG! I felt like a star! Yes, I had no idea what the hell I was doing, but the feeling of being admired and being the center of attention does feel good sometimes.
After that, I had a few more professional photoshoots, which honestly helped boost my confidence to a whole new level. I did those photoshoots for me, and not for social media gratification, which is very important to remember. I did share some photos, but most of them stayed on my computer. It feels good to go back and look to them once in a while, and remember that feeling of excitement and of being a model. I mean, who does not want to feel like a model, right?!
You may not know the angles which make you look good yet, but it's such a fun thing to figure out! Dressing up, doing hair and makeup, and asking your friend to take photos of you can definitely lighten up your mood! Can you think of your favourite YouTuber right now? Whoever it is, they all started out being shy and afraid when shooting videos and photos. But can you see how much confidence they carry after doing it for some time? It's amazing!
All I am trying to say is to not be afraid to try new things that will help you feel better about yourself! And remember, you are beautiful just the way you are! If you don't like makeup, there is no reason for you to wear it during a photoshoot, or any other event for that matter. Do things that make YOU happy! :)
Thank you for stopping by! If you do end up having a spontaneous photoshoot, and happen to share it on Instagram, use the hashtag #lifeofardor, so I can see your beautiful photos! :)
P.S. These photos were taken after a couple of months of not shooting any looks. The feeling of excitement was unreal!
